Pac-10 Football: Week 10 wrap-up

1. Everyone was high on Oregon after they win over USC, but then Oregon ran into a buzz saw this week that was Toby Gerhart, Andrew Luck and Stanford as a whole, really. Although Oregon lost to Stanford 51-42, the Ducks still control their own destiny towards the Rose Bowl.

2. Speaking of controlling their own destiny — Arizona also controls their own destiny toward the Rose Bowl. Yep, that’s right. The Wild Cats are smelling roses. Win out, and they’re in.

3. Sticking with points one and two above, a very big game may be looming on Nov. 21. That’s when Oregon travels to Tucson to face Arizona. If both teams win next week, Nov. 21 will play a huge role in the Rose Bowl and Pac-10 conference champion races.

4. USC struggled against Arizona State. This is definitely a down year in So. Cal. Could USC actually finish third or lower in the conference? They still face Stanford, cross-town rival UCLA, and Arizona.

5. As tough of a conference as the Pac-10 is proving to be this season, they won’t be sending a team to the national title as every team has at least two losses now. It just won’t happen.
