Oregon State WR Darrell Catchings out for season after injury worse than expected – Behind The Beavers Beat.

Update (8/20/2009): Several reports, most notably that of Paul Buker, are saying Catchings may actually be able to play some time this season.

Yesterday evening Paul Buker of The Oregonian reported Oregon State WR Darrell Catchings will miss the entire upcoming season after suffering a broken right hand. The junior was thought to play a significant role for the Beavers’ this season.

Originally it was thought Catchings might miss 3-4 weeks, but a specialist revealed the injury is more severe.

He will be able to redshirt this season and play for two more years.

washingtonSo far, USC has lost both its offensive coordinator (Steve Sarkisian) and defensive coordinator (Nick Holt) to Washington. Many, including myself, have wondered what the draw to Washington is. Holt was asked this very question and offers a pretty good answer.

uscMark Sanchez says he’s “right in the middle” on whether he will declare for the NFL draft or not. He’s rated the third best quarterback for the draft. Matthew Stafford (Georgia) has already declared, and it’s rumored that Sam Bradford (Oklahoma) is going to declare.

oregon-stPaul Buker from The Oregonian has an interesting take on where Oregon State should rank if Utah were to be considered for No. 1.
